Masquerade of Life

Masquerade of Life
by Rachelle David
Satisfaction has not reached my ears
As my true self I am in tears
Changing is my only hope
It is the only option within my scope
Hidden behind this mask I can conquer the world
My identity can never be unfurled
Through brave eyes I see reality
As long as I do not cause a calamity
People might be calling my name
But I am already playing this game
There is no more me
Now there are so many things that I could be
My intensions may be bleak
But my situations are not weak
Still hiding behind this mask
I will never accomplish my task
I fight myself as I grip
The superficial barrier that I must rip
Finally I put my fears upon the shelf
Instantly I am myself
